31/03/2008: Five News
In a production for British broadcaster, Five, Muhammad Jawad talks to popular presenter Asha Tanna about a recent Hollywood detox trend using leaches. The treatment, which became famous after being endorsed by actress Demi Moore on the David Letterman show, involves leaches being placed onto a patient skin and supposedly sucking out toxins from the blood.

Jawad says, "There is no scientific evidence that this treatment can be used for detoxifying a patient's system. Without upsetting anybody, it must be said that this treatment is really just a bit of a fad".
